Mackay to Maroochydore.....

We took a tour around Ben’s property on this awesome buggy
when we popped in for a visit in Mackay.
Tac caught this beautiful flathead on a surface lure in one of our favourite places
called Cape Palmerston.
Sunrise in Maroochydore where......

.......we enjoyed morning walks on the beach and.....
......caught up with Mum and Dad for a few relaxing days.

The Whitsundays....

We left the NT behind and travelled East into Qld where we spent 4 nights in Airlie Beach.  This is the view from the lookout at Shute Harbour.  We caught a water transport boat from here out to......
....Long Island for a day of relaxing on a quiet island in the Whitsundays.
We said goodbye to Long Island at the end of a magic day and headed back to the mainland.

We came across this snake on a walk along the esplanade.  It slithered down the tree trunk and disappeared!

We survived the Gibb!

The end of the Gibb River Road what an amazing adventure!
Here’s we are with our friends Jay and Michelle on our last night travelling together at the Daly Waters Pub.
It was a night to remember with lots of dancing and celebrating after 3 weeks of red dirt and corrugations!

The fishing charter.....

Our fishing charter awaits at Honeymoon Bay......

Firstly we caught live bait from the beach with “Geoff” one of our aboriginal guides.

Then the fun begins as we caught fish....

....after fish.

Tac catches a small fish and as he winds in a big cod takes the small fish.

I finished the day with a beautiful big Golden Snapper or otherwise known as Fingermark.

Our catch at the end of 3 hours.  Not a bad mornings work for Jay, Tac, Michelle and I!

Kalumburu....

On the drive out to Kalumburu we faced a few river crossings with crocodile warnings.  Best not to stop in the middle!!

Our camp spot with the fisherman’s hut overlooking the beach at Honeymoon Bay 30km north of Kalumburu.

The view of Honeymoon Bay from our bed in our camp trailer.
This is Roger from the community at Kalumburu where we purchased one of his paintings.

Mitchell Falls.....

Some of the rock art on our trek out to Mitchell Falls.
One of the amazing views along the way.......

.......until you reach the finale the very famous “Mitchell Falls”.
It was a long 2.5 hour journey in our 4wds to do only 70kms as the road in was heavily corrugated!
