Mackay and the midgee suit!

A day off work due to wet weather so went for a drive and found another old Qld pub with its own unique story and had a counter lunch with a xxxx gold.
One of the  beautiful beachs at Cape Hillsborough National Park were we ventured on the same rainy day.

The weather improved and the roof is on!

Next is the ceiling battens.....

Fishing again in a creek in the small town of Grasstree.  Not a very successful day with the fish but loving the weather - 25 degrees.

NO LAUGHING!!!  Went to the Sarina Market this morning and bought two midgee suits.  Tac was too shy to go on camera in his but won't hesitate to wear it when those nasty buggers are biting.  Also good for the mosquitos when they are in full force.  We just need to find a croc proof suit and I will be even happier.

Mackay and the cast net.........

The frame is up and so are the trusses.

It's looking good!

"The Clarion" where Sue and Ox are staying when they come up to see us in August.  We might stay there too for a few nights so we can enjoy catching up with our friends.  It will be a nice break from the caravan.

Today we went to the market on the marina.....another sunny day.

My cute friends say hi.
Tac's first throw of our new cast net.
Still practising........

Building & fishing.....

Tac working hard!
Ben & Tac get stuck in and it's starting to take shape.
Enough building....... time for some fishing in Sandy Creek off the Coral Sea.
View from the small township of  Dunnrock out across sandy Creek. The weather was perfect!
Our catch for the arvo.....we all caught a fish so that's fair.  Just had them for dinner very tasty.

Building in Mackay....

Our new home in Mackay for a couple of months while Tac helps his mate, Ben, build an extension on their gorgeous old Queenslander house.

Tac and Ben discussing their next move.

Tac working on the sub-floor.

Went for a look at the marina in Mackay.

We were lucky enough to go aboard the Greenpeace 20 million dollar yacht  called the "Rainbow Warrior".  We had to be ferried out by one of their zodiacs to the vessel.

Approaching the "Rainbow Warrior".....

Tac fancies himself as the Captain as he sits in his chair!  We were given a guided tour of the whole yacht - very impressive.

Spent a great Sunday at Shoal Point with Ben, Christy & their kids. We had a bbq lunch & then fished off the beach - perfect!
