Feels a bit like deja vu!

Sunset over the caravan park in Mackay. We are back here again for a few weeks to help finish off the extension.

The back deck has been plastered and ready for painting.

Tac and Ben working on the handrails on the new front verandah.

Forty Fish!!

We had 3 great days of fishing this week and on the last day caught over 40 fish in a matter of  hours.  We had an absolute blast!  There was no shortage of species and these photos are just a few.  Here is a long nosed trevally I caught which put up a decent fight.

This is actually Dad's reef shark that Tac is holding.

The prize catch is this Red Emperor that Tac caught and released.
Such a beautiful fish with magnificent markings.

A type of sweetlip which had really pretty blue markings around his eyes.

Another trevally......this time a small giant trevally.
Not quite sure what this fish is.  We have tried to find the species in two different fish guides but can't find it!

A very pretty parrot fish.

Dad caught a bit bigger giant trevally.  We thought he had a horse on when he was pulling it in!

Then along came the hump headed batfish.  We caught quite a bag full of  these with Dad reeling in the majority so we nicknamed it the "Geoffrey Fish".

Another "Geoffrey Fish"

A species of nannygai (which we think is the large mouth nannygai) was a brilliant pinky red.  A great end to a fantastic 3 weeks in Airlie Beach catching up with Mum and Dad.

Another week in Airlie.......

Our mate the kooka loves the gnome!!!  Let's hope the tiges can have a win this arvo and make it to the next final...... GO TIGERS!!

Spent a morning at the Airlie Beach market and watched this dragon made of sand & water take shape.

Family snap under the giant fig tree.

Sausage sizzle night at the caravan park and we were lucky enough to have 8Ball Aitkin entertain us with his country blues music.  Tac bought a tshirt with one of his song titles "7 bucks an hour in a chicken suit"!

Took a day trip to Hideaway Bay and tried our luck at some beach fishing.  It has been too windy to get out in the boat. We hope to get a few calm days this coming week.

Happy Father's Day from the Whitsundays...................

A selfie with Mum and Dad.  It's so good to see them.  We picked them up from the airport and then the next day went on a Whitsunday cruise.

First stop was Whitehaven Beach with the beautiful white sand.
Enjoying the sunshine on Whitehaven.

Looking out from Daydream Island where we had lunch and a few drinks!

Tac took us on a guided tour around Hamilton Island in a golf buggy.
The marina is full of amazing boats.

Tac likes his new wheels!!!!

The view from One Tree Hill on Hamilton Island overlooking more of the whitsundays.

Another stunning view...........

Tac's first Estuary Cod.....he went on to catch a few.

Dad snagged a couple as well!
Fishing out from Shute Harbour on the fringes of the coral reefs.
Last cast of the day and I landed a Stripey Seaperch.  We have been fishing with soft plastics in the shape of realistic prawns.
