Through the flood waters..........

Not a bad way to fill in time while waiting for the flood waters to recede.
Tac is fishing with our old mate Trevor.......

......and look what takes the bait, another nice jewie!!!

Our last Sunset over the Gulf.

We hit the road again and plough through the flooded Flinders River on our
way to Cloncurry.
We passed through the little outback town of Julia Creek and decide to
pop in for a beer with the locals on Easter Sunday morning.

No way out!!!!!

We have finally finished our work here at the caravan park in
Karumba but now Walkers Creek has flooded the road and we are stuck.
We just have to sit tight and patiently wait for the water to subside.
Nobody knows how long it will take.  We hope only a few days.
Ah well we will just have to go fishing!!
This is a photo of Walkers Creek from the other side that we got off the internet.
As you can see there is someone throwing a cast net trying to get live bait!
The monsoonal rain that we had a few days ago has filled the rivers and this
is the result.  It could have been worse as earlier this week we were under a tropical
cyclone watch!!

The frogs here are amazing.  This fellow is having his lunch.
Tac actually witnessed this frog leaping out of a tree and
snatching this butterfly in mid air.  Certainly not something
you see everyday!

All finished now and ready for a nap.

A goanna that decided to have a drink out of the drain in the centre of town!

Another sleepy frog that was so tame that I took this photo about an inch away.....

....and the same goes for this funny chap!

All work and no time to fish!

A big week of work with no days off to try and get as much achieved here at the park before we finish next week.
How do you like the toilet block Tac and Luke built?

My new friends........

......I drew up and painted these
figures on the other amenities block
we have been renovating.

Tac has been retiling the disabled shower and toilets while
I've been repainting them inside and out!  The work just
never stops.

Another karumba sunset.........

A day at the beach.........

Tac started the day with a nice black jew fish.......

..........and I followed with another jewie.

You never know what is going to come out of the water next.
A cute little hammerhead shark.

Tac had trouble keeping this fish in his hands and the poor bugger got covered in sand.
It was a feisty blue salmon.
