We made it!!!!

We said goodbye to Tocumwal after a few months of camping on the river.
Before we left we took a trip to Albury to see our good friends Noel and Raylee who we met early on in our trip over 2 years ago.  It was fantastic to see them both again and we look forward to the next time we meet!
Kathy came to see us off with her beautiful dogs "Smokey" and "Danny Boy".  We sure will miss their daily company and promise to come back to visit.
Tac is talking to "Danny Boy" a one of a kind beagle who had a funny personality.
We made it home after over two and a half years on the road!! What an incredible journey we had through our vast and spectacular country.  We can't wait till the next trip.  Stay tuned we will keep you posted........,

We are going to miss our friend Kathy's two gorgeous dogs "Smokey" and "Danny Boy" who we play with everyday.

Furry friend....

Had some fun catching this silver perch and....

.....a bit of a laugh at this tiny cod!!
This gorgeous little fella was not a bit scared when we took a walk along the river!
This would have to be the smallest paddle steamer we have seen.

Family.......

Aunty Chris, Uncle Noel and Pip came up to visit us.  It was a great couple of days with lots of laughs, plenty of hot sun and a few beers too!

My little mate "Jack" having a goodbye cuddle.  He was camped beside us for the last 6 weeks.
Mum and Dad also made a visit and here we are having lunch in Echuca.

Town Beach.....

This is town beach in Tocumwal where we have been camping for the last month
or so.  It's a great spot on a nice sandy beach.
Tac standing out the front of "The Big Strawberry" in Koonoomoo.
We took a drive out to the blowhole which is apparently connected
to the Murray River underground.

Old pubs......

The Terminus Hotel in Tocumwal is a majestic old building both inside and out.
It's one of many historical pubs in the area.  It's served cold beer too!!
This tree is a ripper growing out sideways and then vertical.
We tried our luck fishing in one of the nearby irrigation channels but it just wasn't our day!

Go Tigers!!!!

All geared up and ready for the grand final!
This is Rory the parrot who was camping in the group next door.
Even Rory was on the Tiger bandwagon!!
This is Tac after the game with his Richmond undies on his head!   He was in full celebration mode and so he should after a huge win by the mighty Tigers.  It's been a long time between premierships and the supporters are celebrating!!!
We celebrated long into the night around the campfire.
Today was Deb's birthday so it was celebration mode again with a counter meal at the local pub.

Tac caught this ripper Yella on a live shrimp!

Big fish......

This "big fish" was at Cahuna where we spent a night.
The railway bridge at Tocumwal where there is another.....
......"big fish"!
Our first arvo out in the boat and Tac caught this big Murray Cray on a fishing rod.

I was lucky enough to snag this Yellow Belly that we put back as they are too fatty to eat!

More on the Murray......

Another great spot on The Murray just out of Renmark.
Although carp are considered a pest we had a lot of fun catching some big ones!
It's a tough life sitting around the campfire having a beer!
We made it back into our home state of Victoria.

Camping on the Murray......

A picturesque lookout along The Murray not far from Swan Reach.....
....where we camped for the night.....
.....and made a few friends like this little fella!
We couldn't believe our eyes when we spied this kangaroo living on a boat along the River.  You can just see him sitting at the front of the boat.  His kind owner told us he was 13 and had always been blind but had no trouble getting around on the boat.

The Mighty Murray in Mannum....

The lights of Port Pirie at night.
Driving through the countryside at this time of year is beautiful.  The canola is so vivid in color.
The banks of the Murray River is a welcome sight.  We look forward to following its twists and turns and hopefully catch a few cod and yellowbelly along the way!
As you can see the Murray is a huge river in SA.
