Salt and Pepper squid!

The jetty on sunset in Ceduna where.....

...we caught heaps of squid.
This dolphin was chasing bait fish around the Ceduna boat ramp.
This jetty in the quiet little town called Haslam produced so many squid we have been eating them for lunch and dinner!
A gorgeous pelican watching over us in...

.....Venus Bay where we are camped right on the waters edge.

The Nullarbor......

We spent the last week crossing the Nullarbor.....
.....where we checked out one of the many blowhole caves along the way.
A strong cool breeze was flowing out of this one!
We crossed another border into SA.

Can you find Tac in this pic??
The whales are on their yearly migration and there are loads around.
The Head of the Bight is a picturesque coastline along with the added bonus of amazing whales!
This is a gorgeous dog who just decided to come on a walk with us in Fowlers Bay.
Just 30 metres off the shore where about 20 Southern Right whales frolicking in the sea.
We spent the arvo watching these magnificent creatures.  You can just see one in the background.
Here is another beauty laying on his back in the water.
Tac is trying his luck not far from Cactus Beach.

Kambalda in the goldfields.....

Another stunning old building in the nearby old gold mining town in Coolgardie.
Catching up with friends Brenda and Jason in Kambalda.
Tac and Jason doing a bit of renovation work in Jason and Brenda's recently purchased house.
Standing out on Lake Lefroy a huge salt lake where ......

......they race 'land yachts' as there is no water.
It goes for miles!
Tac in the outback dunny at Widgiemooltha where we stopped for lunch at the tavern.
The boys are looking into one of the many gold mining sites in the area that is now closed.
A replica of the famous "Golden Eagle" nugget that was found just under the surface not far away.  We tried our luck fossicking around but only found some fools gold!

The "Super Pit".......

We braved the cold and wet weather in Esperance and caught a few King George whiting along with a few flatheads and herring.
Tac is standing amongst the camel sculptures in Norseman.
The gold mining town of Kalgoorlie is full of beautiful old buildings....
.....along with the "Superpit".  A humongous open cut mine that you need to see to believe.  It is massive!!
You can just see the huge trucks going up and down from the bottom of the cut bringing all the rock up to the surface.  The drivers work a 12 hour day (or night) and only get 18 loads per shift, so you can appreciate the size of the cut and how long it takes them to get down and back up again!
Here we are standing amongst some of the old machinery from the mine.
This is one of the trays from the back of the trucks that haul the rock out of the mine.

Stunning coastline.....

The coastline surrounding Esperance would be some of the best we've seen in Oz.
Fishing from the rocks produced......
.....a few small ones.
The famous "Lucky Bay" where the sand is pure white and the kangaroos hop along the beach.
Another spectacular bay close by.
This is Hellfire Bay where we could sight fish for Salmon but unfortunately they wouldn't take a lure!
