We meet the ocean.......

Our first view of the ocean at Emu Park since we left home.  A quaint little seaside town near Yeppoon.

Meet "Harley" a two year old saltie at the Koomara Croc Farm.  He was a gorgeous little chap who loved his head scratched!
A hungry girl waiting for her lunch.

Tac tried his best to get aboard the XXXX boat.

After four hours driving we pulled up at the Cape Palmerston Tourist Park and this is the view from the short track to the pristine beach.

Fishing in the creek that met the sea at Cape Palmerston.

Tac caught this trevally in the creek on the incoming tide.  We also caught bream, whiting and flathead.

Lunch and a cold one today at the classic old country Koumala Pub.

Redclaw for lunch!!!

There is no shortage of  redclaw we could eat them for breakfast, lunch or dinner.  We were lucky enough to meet Noel who is a redclaw specialist and he taught us all his handy tricks.

Tac is peeling the claws and legs to put into his redclaw pickle.

Our little mate that we gave half our bait to every time we fished off the rocks.  He was so polite we couldn't resist him.

Still catching those redclaw.....these ones are big!

Another bream caught in the lake.

How amazing is Lake Maraboon?  We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will come back again.

Our 'happy hour' friends who we have shared many laughs over a beer or three!!  We will definitely catch up with these guys in our future travels.

You can't beat a good campfire.

I didn't have any choice but to share my breakfast this morning!

Redclaw for dinner?

The biggest bottle tree in Roma - she is a beauty.

How do you like my black bream?

An esky full of Redclaw from Lake Maraboon near Emerald.  We are staying for 2 weeks or so and hope to catch a few more.

Look at these rippers not a bad size. You catch the redclaw in opera house nets with fruit and vegies.

Very tasty buggers - a cross between a yabby & a crayfish.

Kamarooka

Tac in the 'ice truck' heading out for a delivery.  Not only did we look after the caravan park we also ran the town's iceworks and also did gas refills.

That's me greeting the guests as they arrived after a long day of travelling.

The caravan park is full up and the grey nomads are all happy campers!!

More caravans........

Our little friend who visited us everyday.
We think this could be our new rig when we trade in the Jayco.  This beast will go anywhere!

The beautiful girls 'Poppy' and 'Suri'.  We loved giving them lots of cuddles.

Neil and Glenda, the real owners of the park, arrived home after a week away catching up with family.  We happily handed over the reigns and hit the road again.  It was a great experience and we met some terrific friends who we will catch up with on our travels.
