Crossed another border.................

We had a brilliant day at Litchfield National Park and.....

....even took a swim in the surprisingly warm water.

We then headed west and crossed the boarder into WA where Tac looked inside this huge boab prison tree!

The lookout at Wyndham was incredible showing the junction of five different rivers.  The surrounding landscape was mind blowing!!

These kangaroo babies where just gorgeous and up for a cuddle at the Saturday market in Kununurra.

This is what you call a catfish feeding frenzy on the Ord River!

Not a bad view from the caravan park!!

Have a look at this big fellow!!!!

Friends......

It was awesome to catch up with friends in Darwin.  We had drinks and dinner at Stokes Hill Wharf.
Another perfect day looking over towards the city of Darwin.  We spent a great 3 days with our mates and look forward to catching up again in a few months time.

The local footy.......

A view of  East Woody beach where you can just see Tac walking down the rocks toward the beach.

Another amazing shot on an overcast day of Rainbow Cliffs.  The Gove Peninsula is a truly special place to visit.

We spent Saturday arvo watching a few games of Aussie Rules with the locals.
Here are some of the players in action.  They are very passionate about their footy!

Arnhem Land.......

We set off along the Central Arnhem Road towards Nhulunbuy and spotted these baby buffalo on the side of the road.

It's about 700km of corrugated and rocky dirt road so we camped along the way after about 8 hours of driving and then only had a few hours the next morning to reach the Gove Peninsula and the town of Nhulunbuy.
The water is a pretty blue but then you can see the huge Rio Tinto Refinery in the distance.

The Yirrkala Art Centre was fantastic and by far the best artwork we have seen.  It was terrific to see some of the local artists at work.

This freshwater creek was apparently croc free but we didn't swim!

Red dust.......

Butterfly Springs was a stunning spot to camp for the night.

Tac enjoyed his curried snags by the fire watching the sun glowing off the nearby rocky hills.

The Roper Bar (which was built in the early 1900's as part of a supply route) allows safe crossing of the Roper River to the nearby aboriginal communities.

This picturesque spot is the Katherine River just on the outskirts of the Katherine township.  We stayed a few days to give the caravan a spring clean after all that red dust!!

Bouncing along the Savannah.......

We stayed overnight at Hell's Gate Roadhouse (you can see the name on the big tank) on our journey.

From Qld into the NT the road doesn't get any better.  Both are full of corrugations, sharp rocks and soft sand.

Borroloola was a great little spot to stay for a few nights.

The McArthur River at King Ash Bay where there were plenty of hopeful fisherman!

Back on the Savannah Way.......

Spent a couple of nights at Burketown and flicked a few lures off the causeways but no luck!

You can't go past an outback pub and not sample the goods!!

We had four days at Adels Grove and visited Lawn Hill National Park where we......

.......hired a canoe and paddled through the gorge.........

.......had a dip in the clear cool water......

......and completed the very scenic walk across the ridge.
