Arnhem Land.......

We set off along the Central Arnhem Road towards Nhulunbuy and spotted these baby buffalo on the side of the road.

It's about 700km of corrugated and rocky dirt road so we camped along the way after about 8 hours of driving and then only had a few hours the next morning to reach the Gove Peninsula and the town of Nhulunbuy.
The water is a pretty blue but then you can see the huge Rio Tinto Refinery in the distance.

The Yirrkala Art Centre was fantastic and by far the best artwork we have seen.  It was terrific to see some of the local artists at work.

This freshwater creek was apparently croc free but we didn't swim!
